I am a painter, muralist, art organizer, printmaker, and book artist. I was born in 1979 in Clearwater, Florida. I received a BFA from the University of Florida in Creative Photography and Electronic Intermedia. In my role as Director and Founder of Cinders Gallery, I staged over 100 exhibitions in New York City and internationally. Cinders Gallery specialized in exhibitions, site-specific installations, community events, and promoting emerging artists and artist books. Cinders Gallery shows were featured in several publications including the New York Times and Art Forum. My artwork has been exhibited internationally and I have artist books in the permanent collections of the MOMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, The Walker Art Center, and other institutions. Commissions include murals at the Facebook office in NYC and the Pablo Center of Confluence in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In 2015, I was awarded a Housing Works and Urban Development Grant to paint a mural at the Minnehaha City Park in Maitland, Florida. The mural spans 105 feet over water and celebrates the palette of the surrounding Florida nature and a space for reflection upon it. In 2019 I was awarded a mural with NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine, with support from the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City to work on a community mural project at Coney Island Hospital. The city-wide program uses a collaborative mural-making process as a tool to build trust and engagement between the hospitals and their communities and build neighborhood pride. This year, I was selected to paint an art barrier beautification mural for D.O.T. in NYC that spans over a mile in Queens.
